Custodian III

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian III to join our team at the West Virginia Department of Education. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and attractiveness of our school buildings and grounds.

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment and machinery
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient facilities operation
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or other county supervisors

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of and physical capability to perform assigned duties

This is a full-time position with a normal contract of 260 days, eight hours per day, typically 3 PM - 11 PM. The salary will be determined by salary classification level, experience, and education according to schedule at Pay grade C plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
