Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed calculations, design narratives, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for building services systems.
  • Create and interpret drawings using AutoCAD or Revit BIM, with a focus on delivering high-quality designs that meet client requirements.
  • Provide construction administration support, including submittal reviews, RFIs, inspections, and punch list management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Travel to project sites for meetings, field investigations, and construction oversight, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Electrical Engineer and manage multiple projects independently, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Mentor and support a Mechanical Design Engineer in their development and project support, promoting knowledge sharing and growth within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 5+ years of experience in building-specific engineering or consulting, with a PE License in NY and the ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit BIM within a design production environment.
  • Experience designing air handling, hydronic, and steam systems is essential, with a background in Healthcare, Higher Education, and Government/Municipal markets preferred.
  • Ability to travel regionally (up to 300 miles) with occasional overnight stays, with a willingness to adapt to changing project requirements.
