Job Title: Civil Engineer II

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer II to join our team in the Fabrication Engineering Unit within the Quality Assurance/Bureau of Engineering Review and Support. As a senior-level Project Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring off-site inspection for the acceptance and verification during the fabrication of Structural Steel and Prestressed/Precast Concrete bridge components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee inspection agencies during their inspection assignments
  • Review shop drawings, design drawings, weld procedure specifications, weld process qualification, fabrication and repair procedures
  • Evaluate Non-Destructive Testing Procedures along with their results
  • Work with the AWS Structural Steel and Bridge Welding Code, the NYSSCM, the NYSPCCM, ASME and ASTM
  • Perform all other related engineering duties
  • Assist the Engineer-In-Charge on projects of highly technical complexity
Requirements:
  • Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
  • A valid New York State Professional Engineers License
  • Current New York State registration as a Professional Engineer
  • A master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the civil engineering experience
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Experience monitoring and directing off-site, in-process fabrication inspection on large bridge construction projects
Work Environment:
