As the Vice President of Engineering Program Management, you will take full ownership of the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and subsequent iterations. You will be responsible for refining processes to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization, ensuring that execution and delivery are seamless while balancing customer expectations with business goals.

Our products serve law enforcement, consumers, and the broader community, making it crucial to navigate the complexities and trade-offs necessary to deliver the highest quality solutions.

Your Responsibilities

Location: Scottsdale, AZ office - On site
Reports to: SVP of R&D Hardware Engineering
Direct Reports: 3-5 Direct Reports with a total team of 15

  • Strategic Leadership and Lifecycle Management: Develop and implement strategic roadmaps for hardware initiatives. Oversee the complete lifecycle of hardware products from conception to market launch and eventual phase-out. Manage the processes guiding product development.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Direct and unify cross-disciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, industrial design, software, firmware, and manufacturing, to effectively execute product development workflows. Ensure alignment between product strategies and operational capabilities for cohesive execution.
  • Financial Oversight and Resource Allocation: Supervise and distribute budgets and resources across hardware initiatives. Ensure alignment with financial objectives and optimize the use of operational and capital expenditures.
  • Project Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire portfolio of hardware projects. Establish priorities and resolve conflicts to guarantee timely completion of critical tasks and objectives.
  • Team Development and Leadership: Cultivate and mentor high-performing teams. Promote a culture of independence and excellence, driving organizational growth and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain robust relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including executives. Communicate effectively regarding program progress, challenges, and strategic directions.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to conduct trade-off analyses and address complex product development challenges. Demonstrate adaptability and problem-solving prowess to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and foster innovative solutions.
Your Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in program management within hardware development.
  • 5+ years of experience in establishing processes, project management, and scheduling.
  • 5+ years of experience in budget management and creation.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles and development processes.
  • Ability to articulate and navigate complex technical/engineering issues.
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving conflicts, interdependencies, and program challenges efficiently.
