Job Summary

UC San Diego is seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to perform routine to complex computerized tomography (CT) procedures for diagnostic purposes. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of radiologic technology and computed tomography, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures in accordance with established guidelines and protocols
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring the highest quality image
  • Administer contrast media and assist physicians as needed
  • Enter complex data into computer systems and review images for technical quality
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of radiologic technology
  • California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R) certification
  • Registered Technologist for Computed Tomography (R.T.(CT)(ARRT)) certification
  • Venipuncture certification or completion of a venipuncture course
  • BART or BLS certification at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six months
  • Less than four years of recent experience in a similar role and setting, or a new graduate of an approved radiologic technology program
Preferred Qualifications
  • California Radiology Technologist of Fluoroscopy (CRT-F) certification
  • Five years of experience in a hospital setting

The ideal candidate will be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs, and will be subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
