Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team at Industrial Trade Services. This position offers competitive compensation at $30 per hour plus a daily per diem of $100.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and analyze project blueprints, plans, and specifications to execute welding tasks effectively.
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of contract documents and perform welding in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Inspect work sites to identify potential issues and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Engage in physical labor at construction sites, adhering to project specifications and quality control standards.
  • Utilize various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and ARC as required by the project.
  • Conduct field installations for structural components, ductwork, and piping, including stainless steel and carbon materials.
  • Select appropriate filler materials based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the field labor team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Maintain resource conservation to uphold budgetary constraints and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare metal surfaces through de-burring and grinding as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding materials, issues, and safety concerns.
  • Navigate confined and cluttered workspaces while maintaining flexibility and balance.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards in the work environment.
  • Operate various mobile equipment and tools as needed for project completion.
Physical Requirements:

This role demands:

  • Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks repetitively.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work at heights and in varying environmental conditions.
Safety and Equipment:

All employees must provide their own steel-toed boots and hand tools. The company will supply power tools and personal protective equipment. Compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols is mandatory.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong spatial visualization skills to interpret technical drawings.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting production deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
  • Good balance and coordination while working at heights.

This is a full-time hourly position with variable hours based on project demands, typically averaging 60 hours per week.
