The Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of commercial painting tasks, ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Apply paint to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns, demonstrating a working knowledge of all tools of the trade.
- Perform preventative, diagnostic, and corrective painting maintenance of facilities through our computer maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Clean equipment, storage rooms, and tool rooms, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, addressing issues and complaints as a group decision-making process.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned, contributing to the overall success of our facilities department.
- Exceptional ability to accomplish a range of painting techniques and procedures, including application, removal, and replacement of interior wall covering, paint, etc.
- Ability to prepare surfaces of equipment, interior and exterior walls, and railing using sandpaper, scrapers, and sanding machines.
- Proficient in painting window frames and making minor repairs to windows.
- Demonstrate ability to safely erect and use scaffolding.
