Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment, including balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts bearings, forklifts, wheel loaders tractors, and trailers. This role requires a high level of mechanical aptitude and the ability to respond to system failures by taking corrective action.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs repairs in accordance with Company Safety and OSHA requirements
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections (PM); diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds major equipment/components
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises leadership if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times
  • Inspects the quality of third-party repairs and/or rebuilds
  • Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Safely operates tools and equipment needed during repair and servicing of equipment
  • Diagnoses defects and repairs a variety of equipment
  • Estimates time and materials required to perform major repairs
  • Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • Three or more years of mechanical experience
  • Your own tools appropriate for the position
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends to support operations and the needs of the facility
