Job Summary

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to our youngest patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for assigned patients, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care, under the supervision of our registered nurses.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, while promoting independence and dignity.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence within our unit.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in pediatrics or neonatal care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care and family engagement.
