Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team in the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food for the hotel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary management, with a focus on safety, sanitation, and cost control. The Executive Chef will be responsible for managing human resources, planning and executing menus, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and corporate regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including outlets, banquets, stewarding, and purchasing.
  • Manage human resources, including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, empowering, coaching, and counseling associates.
  • Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food in the hotel, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and cost-effective environment.
  • Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and related areas, meeting or exceeding federal, state, and corporate standards.
  • Develop and implement menus and back-up systems, continually improving revenues and profit margins while maintaining quality.
  • Execute and promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Two or more years of post-high school education, preferably in culinary arts.
  • Five or more years of experience in a related position, with advanced knowledge of food and beverage management.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff, ensuring the accomplishment of goals.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
