Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipelayer to join our team at J.D. Abrams, LP. As a Pipelayer, you will be responsible for laying pipe or box for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grade trenches or culverts to ensure conformation to requirements
  • Position pipe or box pieces and seal joints using welding equipment, cement, or glue
  • Cut pipes or boxes to required lengths
  • Install and repair sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems
  • Use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels to ensure accuracy
  • Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools
  • Lay out pipe routes following written instructions or blueprints
  • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
  • Dig trenches to desired or required depths using hand tools, excavators, or trenching tools
  • Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement using magnetic or radio indicators
  • Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
Requirements

We are looking for candidates with experience in underground pipe installation, preferably with three to six months of related experience and/or training. Familiarity with carpenter's hand tools, small/medium/large power tools, and bench tools is essential.
