Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating specialized mammography equipment, performing direct patient care, and conducting a variety of technical procedures to produce high-quality images for the diagnosis of breast diseases and osteoporosis evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Selects and modifies positioning of patients for optimal image quality
  • Performs mammographic, stereotactic biopsy, breast pathology localizations, and bone density procedures
  • Provides patient education and ensures compliance with strict ACR, MQSA, and state regulations
  • Assists the radiologist with invasive procedures and maintains accurate documentation
  • Coordinates with the O.R., central scheduling, physicians, and office staff for effective scheduling of invasive breast procedures
  • Maintains a par level of supplies stocked and available in the mammography rooms and orders new supplies as needed
  • Assists with the training of newly hired personnel and clinical training of students
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting of results to physicians and patients
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree (preferred)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M)
  • Certified by the State of Texas - MRT
  • Basic Life Support (CPR/BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One (1) year of experience as a radiologic technologist
