Job Summary:

The Critical Care Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other healthcare team members. As a member of the healthcare team, the incumbent appropriately assists team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems with an awareness of cost containment and time management.

Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other healthcare team members.
  • Assist team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems with an awareness of cost containment and time management.
  • Float to multiple units within the hospital, possibly multiple times per shift, based on skills and competencies as determined by the Nursing Supervisor or the Staffing Office.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • 2 years of consecutive recent (within the last 5 years) ED and/or ICU experience. Will train when operational considerations allow.
    • Associates Degree in Nursing
    • Ability to work in diverse areas
    • Current California RN license
    • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC. NRP and TNCC due within 6 months of hire/transfer
    • Verbal and written communication and computer skills
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • BSN
    • CALL MAY BE REQUIRED
