Job Summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide essential services to students with varying disabilities. As a key member of the IEP team, you will work closely with a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist to promote sensory motor skill development, modify the environment, and adapt activities to support student success and participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement therapeutic programs based on individual goals and objectives under the supervision of a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Consult regularly with the supervising Occupational Therapist to support OT service provision and the SSN educational program.
  • Assist with instructing educational staff on the use of adaptive equipment, positioning programs, and integrating therapy goals into classrooms.
  • Support the supervising Occupational Therapist in designing therapeutic activities, managing equipment, and maintaining safety parameters.
  • Contribute to progress reports by collecting data and record-keeping assistance as needed.
  • Complete Medicaid forms as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Attend Occupational Therapy meetings and IEP meetings as directed.
Requirements
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of technology for communication and formal documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Basic organizational skills.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills.
  • Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement.
  • Ability and desire to work as a team member.
  • Ability to understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity.
Working Conditions
  • Medium work strength level (lifting or carrying 50 pounds).
  • Works both indoors and outdoors.
  • Typically a moderate noise level.
  • Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization.
  • Prolonged standing and walking.
  • Frequent bending and reaching.

  • Experience working in the public sector.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
