The Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Baptist Health Care plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic studies. Working under the direction of licensed physicians, this professional is responsible for ordering, preparing, and measuring these substances, as well as performing and assisting with nuclear medicine studies. Maintaining patient safety protocols and adhering to federal, state, and local regulations are also key responsibilities.
Key qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program, and national certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Additionally, a current State of Florida License in Nuclear Medicine Technology and Basic Life Support Certification are required. Proficiency in venipuncture procedures, multitasking, and computer skills are also essential.
This role requires the ability to work various shifts, including those exceeding 40 hours per week, and may involve callback situations. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist must be able to remain on campus during severe weather and disasters.
