Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to support manufacturing and engineering activities, including design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electromechanical systems and specialized test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute inspection and testing plans to verify product conformance with specifications and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure clear communication of purchased product requirements to suppliers.
  • Oversee supplier quality management processes, including root cause analysis and supplier process audits.
  • Lead the development and management of inspection plans throughout the production process.
  • Perform part inspection, including layout, in-process, final, and receiving inspections using various electrical and mechanical inspection equipment.
  • Develop and maintain inspection reports, data collection processes, and develop reports to monitor defined metrics.
  • Support internal and third-party quality audits for manufacturing and lab operations.
  • Oversee document control and calibration systems.
  • Develop new standards for production design, with improvements as needed, and create testing protocols.
  • Oversee internal root cause analysis and continual improvement processes and activities.
  • Analyze data using statistical techniques from various sources, such as certificates of conformance, first articles, incoming inspection, and in-process inspection, to measure performance and drive corrective action and continual improvement activities.
  • Identify training needs and ensure company-wide participation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with at least three years of experience or Associate degree in engineering with at least five years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment building electronic systems.
  • Preferred background in quality, engineering, aerospace, or military specifications.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings, engineering specifications, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including multimeters, electrical test equipment, micrometers, calipers, and other similar metrology devices.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain timely results.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
  • Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance).
  • Proficient in MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn other business software applications to support the role.
  • ISO 9000; ISO 9001; AS9100. Preferred background in military electronics technician support.
  • Root cause analysis experience.
  • Above-average math skills with sound knowledge in statistics.
  • Provide training and support to quality assurance team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
