Deputy Sheriff Position

• Enforcing Laws and Regulations: Enforce laws and regulations, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
• Protecting Citizens: Provide assistance and support to citizens, protect their rights, and maintain public safety.
• Maintaining Order: Maintain order and stability in our community, respond to emergency situations, and work closely with other agencies to ensure effective response.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college hours or associate's degree preferred.
• Experience: Previous law enforcement experience or reserve training preferred.
• Certifications and Licenses: Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English; bilingual skills helpful; valid New Mexico driver's license; completion of police academy training and law enforcement certification within one year of hire.
