Required Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of IT experience.
  • Ideally, 3+ years of practical experience in web application penetration testing or ethical hacking.
  • Preferred certifications include OSCP, GWAPT, GXPN, GPEN, LPT, CEH, CISSP, or other relevant security credentials.

Your Role's Purpose

  • Leading testing initiatives on Fidelity's web and mobile applications and related systems.
  • Simulating the tactics and tools employed by malicious attackers to model potential external threats.
  • Producing reports and presenting findings to stakeholders, developers, and information security teams.
  • Assessing test results, drawing conclusions, and creating targeted exploit scenarios.
  • Collaborating with operations and development teams to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Assisting in the research and development of tools for vulnerability detection.
  • Working alongside other teams to enhance the overall security posture of Fidelity's applications and infrastructure.
  • Staying informed about security best practices and emerging threats.

Skills You Bring

  • Proven experience in manual testing, including familiarity with OWASP Top 10.
  • Intermediate understanding of application security mechanisms such as authentication, authorization, data validation, and encryption practices.
  • Technical proficiency in identifying various application security vulnerabilities and utilizing associated tools like nmap, Wireshark, Nessus, Metasploit, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as C, C#, Python, Java, etc.
  • Familiarity with web services technologies and frameworks like XML, SOAP, JSON, J2EE, etc.
  • Experience with enterprise-level web application frameworks such as Struts and Spring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for application security.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey threats and drive long-term solutions.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of ownership and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
