Role Overview:
- A Practical Nursing Specialist is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of residents through comprehensive nursing and personal care activities. This role operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including administering treatments and medications, executing clinical procedures, and meticulously documenting patient clinical data.
- Ensure the safety and care of all residents within the nursing unit.
- Adhere to and implement individual care plans.
- Administer and accurately document medications, treatments, and other nursing services.
- Conduct regular counts of controlled substances in the assigned nursing unit.
- Maintain accurate records of the current condition of assigned residents in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Provide and receive detailed reports on resident conditions during shift changes.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team and medical providers as necessary.
- Assist in orienting new staff members.
- Maintain proficiency in all tasks required by regulatory standards.
- Basic computer skills; experience with PCC e-MAR is preferred.
