Machinist Position in Portland, OR

This CNC Machinist role at Sigma Design involves setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines to produce high-quality components for customers. As part of our dynamic job shop environment, you will handle diverse projects, contributing to the fabrication of complex parts with weights up to 100,000 pounds.
Responsibilities- Machining Operations: Set up parts on multiple machining centers, including horizontal mills, vertical mills, and other equipment.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to execute precise machining operations.
- Quality Control: Utilize industry-standard measuring and inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy.
- Component Inspection: Deburr and inspect completed components to confirm quality and adherence to specifications before shipment to customers.
- Credentials: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or certification in CNC machining or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a CNC machinist in a job shop or similar environment.
- Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints; proficiency in the use of measuring and inspection tools to verify component accuracy.
- Salary: $33.00 - $43.00 per hour.

The standard machine shop environment comes with various types of machinery. You must wear appropriate safety garments (PPE) and be able to stand and work for up to 12 hours in different positions. Lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted is also required.
