Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher. This role will provide support to our kindergarten teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized attention to students and assist with lesson planning and implementation.
  • Support teachers in maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment.
  • Assist with grading assignments and recording grades.
  • Help prepare materials for instruction and set up equipment for lessons.
  • Escort students to and from the bus and provide library assistance.
  • Assist with snack preparation and supervise special needs students in the regular classroom setting.
  • Maintain an inventory of classroom materials and supplies.
  • Implement accommodations for special needs students and practice good safety habits.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing and data entry.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students' records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet the definition of "Qualifications" in WV Code §18A-4-8b.
  • Demonstrated competency, pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-8e (state-approved competency test).
  • Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
  • Hold one of the following certificates issued by the WVDE as defined in §18A-4-8: "Aide I", "Aide II", "Aide III", "Aide IV", "Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher - I", "Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher - II", or "Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher - III".
Work Environment

The work environment is moderate to loud, with frequent interactions with students, teachers, and other staff members. The position requires the ability to meet multiple demands and maintain confidentiality of students' records.
