Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in Pahokee, FL. As an OTA with TMC, you will play a crucial role in the rehabilitation and care of patients with various physical, mental, or emotional conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Care Execution: Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, you will execute therapeutic plans designed to help patients recover and improve their daily living skills. This includes teaching patients how to use adaptive equipment, guiding them through exercises, and engaging them in activities tailored to their needs and interests.
- Activity and Program Planning: You will contribute to the planning and selection of therapeutic activities that meet the individual needs and goals of each patient. This involves understanding the therapeutic objectives set by the occupational therapist and applying creative approaches to achieve those objectives.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitoring and documenting patient progress is essential. You must observe changes in patient performance and behavior, report these observations to the occupational therapist, and adjust therapy interventions accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.
- Patient and Family Education: Educating patients and their families about the therapy process, adaptive equipment, and home modifications is another critical duty. You will provide clear instructions and support to ensure that therapeutic practices are continued at home, which is vital for long-term recovery and independence.
- Degree in an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current license/certification in the state of practice
