About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our esteemed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the advancement of our world-class epilepsy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with suspected or confirmed seizure disorders
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, and educate patients and their families on post-discharge care
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience; military RN experience considered
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods are also required. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are necessary, as well as the ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is also a requirement.

This position is classified as Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
