Key Internal Collaborators: Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Design Engineering

Key External Collaborators: Suppliers, Auditors, Customers

Position Summary:

Dometic Marine's facility specializes in the production of roto-molded fuel and ballast tanks along with various roto-molded products tailored for industrial applications. Additionally, the site is engaged in the manufacturing of select marine furniture, aluminum tanks, blow-molded portable tanks, and sanitation systems.

Main Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Thoroughly learn and adhere to all safety protocols within the plant.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of product applications.
  • Understand basic wiring diagrams and industry best practices.
  • Conduct product and part validation testing under the guidance of the Design Engineer/Manager.
  • Perform various testing procedures including:
    • Life cycle testing
    • Front end load testing
    • Amperage testing
    • Sound testing
    • Flow testing
    • Rim wash testing
    • Media flush testing
    • Hose permeation testing
    • Force testing
    • Destructive testing
  • Document findings through formal report writing on the aforementioned tests.

Qualifications and Experience:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and their functionalities; fabrication experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Capability to produce detailed correspondence and test reports.
  • Strong presentation skills for effective communication in both individual and small group settings.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and interpret data.
  • Problem-solving abilities and common sense understanding to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering assembly drawings and Bills of Materials.

Physical and Behavioral Requirements:

The physical demands for this position include:

  • Regularly standing, using hands for handling tasks, reaching, and communicating.
  • Frequent walking and sitting.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Regular lifting/moving of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting/moving of up to 70 pounds.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to collaborate across various functions and with external contacts.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
