Position Overview
This role is situated within the Child and Youth Services (CYS) framework, focusing on the supervision and management of early childhood and school-age programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a minimum of 8 children aged 0-5 in a Child Development Center or 6 children/youth in a School-Age Program.
- Actively engage in program activities, working directly with children for 50% of the time to provide necessary breaks for staff, model appropriate behaviors, and ensure program integrity.
- Assist the Director in recruitment efforts by utilizing established Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions.
- Conduct performance evaluations for staff based on set standards and ensure timely processing of personnel actions.
- Develop work schedules that comply with required ratios and group sizes.
- Monitor staffing levels through analysis of adult/participant ratio sheets to guarantee adequate supervision.
- Ensure that children/youth are consistently monitored and cared for.
- Assume the Director's responsibilities during their absence, up to 20% of the time.
- May provide management oversight in additional CYS facilities during evening or weekend operations.

Qualifications
1. A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, including but not limited to:
- Child Development
- Early Childhood Education
- Special Education
- Youth Development

2. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience equivalent to a major in a relevant subject area, along with appropriate experience or additional coursework.

3. Candidates must also demonstrate:
- Experience in supervising or leading caregivers in child/youth facility programs.
- Proven ability to manage classroom settings within child and youth programs.
- Experience in implementing and overseeing structured curricula for child and youth programs.
- Strong verbal communication skills, evidenced by experience in training, presentations, or meetings with parents and staff.

Additional Information
The position is open to candidates within the local commuting area. Preference will be given to eligible candidates, including Military Spouse Preference and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference candidates.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a pay-banded position with potential for Sunday premium pay and night differentials, as authorized by the Garrison Commander. Additional referrals may be made from this vacancy announcement for up to 90 days after the closing date.
