Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Bus Driver at AAMA Sanchez Charter School. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and orderly transportation of students and others on assigned bus routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and enforce all traffic laws and safety regulations, as well as AAMA policies and procedures for school buses.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for students while on the bus, responding promptly to emergency situations.
  • Exercise appropriate student discipline during transport, reporting incidents to supervisors as necessary.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules, transporting only authorized students.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, submitting work orders as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with department personnel, school staff, and parents regarding student behavior on the bus.
  • Ensure the assigned bus is clean and fueled, operating all communications equipment properly.
  • Report accidents, vehicle damage, and student injuries to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Complete and submit all required reports and documentation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas CDL (Class B with Passenger Endorsement).
  • No record of DUI convictions or other moving violations.
  • Valid Texas School Bus Driver Safety Training Certificate.
  • Ability to pass a DOT-mandated physical exam.
  • Previous experience driving a bus or transporting passengers.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes. The successful candidate will be able to maintain emotional control, communicate effectively, and work indoors and outdoors as needed.
