Advanced Treasury Accountant

**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Utility Accountant to join our team at SCPPA. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to the organization's financial success.
Salary: The estimated annual salary range for this position is $69,926 to $94,376 depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Assist with treasury and cash management related to SCPPA billing, collections, reporting, and maintenance of accounting records.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger accounting system for accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchase orders, treasury, and payroll activities.
- Billings and Invoices: Prepare and remit monthly billings to members for project and program costs, follow up on member invoices to ensure timely payment, and record billings and apply payments received in the accounting system.
- Accounts Payable: Perform accounts payable functions including receiving and reviewing invoices, ensuring proper approvals for payment, and entering invoices and posting of payments in the accounting system.
- Treasury Functions: Initiate treasury functions, prepare purchase orders, post services received, and provide monthly reports to staff.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow of member projects and administrative activities.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with year-end audit activities, prepare annual schedules for external auditors, and respond to questions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: In accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in accounting, preferably in a publicly owned utility or joint powers agency.
- Skills: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), governmental accounting standards, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and modern information systems.
