Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. As a CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.


Responsibilities
  • Operate advanced CT equipment to perform a range of diagnostic procedures, including basic and intermediate exams.
  • Obtain medical history from patients and verify exam requisitions to ensure accurate procedures.
  • Position patients and select optimal scanning factors, ensuring proper radiation protection and safety.
  • Administer contrast media under the direction of radiologists and assist with scanning techniques.
  • Post-process images and accurately identify and label patient information on all scans.
  • Maintain records and document patient information, billing codes, and procedure details in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform quality assurance tests, reporting malfunctions to appropriate staff.

Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), to be obtained within 18 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), to be obtained within 6 months.

Education and Experience
  • Advanced training beyond high school in Radiologic Technology from an accredited or approved program.
  • No prior experience required.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and basic radiation safety.
  • Competence in IV and venipuncture, if required by the facility.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $70,000-$90,000 based on industry standards and location.
