We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunication Systems Specialist to join our team at Jacobs. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the nation's security and intelligence mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems.
  • Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes. Load and configure cloud servers and vendor (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box routers and switches.
  • Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services.
  • Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches.
  • Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipment.
  • Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker.
  • Experience with Linux or OpenStack.
  • Knowledge of telephony and telecommunication.
  • Knowledge of networking services.
  • Knowledge of software defined networking.

Clearance Requirements:

  • TS/SCI w/Poly.

Education and Experience:

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • 14 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent preferred.
  • RHCSA preferred.
