Job Summary

As a Physician Assistant at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a medical or hospital setting. Working under the supervision of a physician, you will provide treatment, referrals, and follow-up care to patients, making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough health histories and physical exams to identify patient needs.
  • Order diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological tests, including special testing such as CTs, MRIs, and ultrasound, with physician approval.
  • Interpret physical findings, lab, and x-ray results to make diagnoses and formulate treatment plans, prescribing medication as needed.
  • Refer complex cases to immediate supervising physicians when necessary.
  • Provide emergency care to prevent loss of life, limb, or eyesight, and institute emergency procedures according to level of training.
  • Support clinic function by participating in policy development, operational improvement, and implementation of policies and improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant program approved by an accredited medical body.
  • NCCPA certification and current Physician Assistant licensure in South Carolina.
  • BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of medical conditions, diseases, and types of injuries, as well as excellent communication skills.
