Job Summary

AdventHealth Corporate is seeking a highly skilled Finance Reimbursement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of accurate and timely cost reports as required by Medicare, Medicaid, and other State or Federal agencies.
  • Coordinate the Medicare, Medicaid, and other State or Federal agency cost report audits, providing supporting documentation, reviewing audit adjustments, and responding to audit findings in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Update, review, and maintain supporting documentation for the Medicare and Medicaid Uniform Contractual Worksheet-Third Party Settlement (UCW-TPS) templates of each Adventist Health System hospital.
  • Review the reasonableness of hospital interim reimbursement rates and special payments received from Medicare and Medicaid and follow-up as appropriate.
  • Discuss hospital third-party settlement results with hospitals' financial leadership.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current laws and regulations of the Federal Medicare and State Medicaid programs, including changes affecting hospital reimbursement of Medicare bad debt, graduate medical education, disproportionate share hospital adjustment, and uncompensated care payments.
  • Complete special projects assigned by the department manager or director within the time frame requested.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant financial work experience.
  • Possess an understanding of financial accounting and auditing principles and their application to healthcare.
  • Strong computer software skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new technology applications used by Adventist Health System.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Medicare and state Medicaid program reimbursement laws and regulations.
  • Ability to research and interpret Medicare and Medicaid laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of regulatory cost reporting software.
  • Experience in healthcare reimbursement, including Medicare, Medicaid reimbursement, and regulatory cost reporting.
