Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging curriculum that aligns with industry standards and prepares students for future careers in design.
  • Instruct 4-year courses that cover various aspects of creative expression and design, including industrial design, fashion design, interior design, and interactive design.
  • Collaborate with community members and post-secondary partners to update curriculum and ensure relevance to industry needs.
  • Utilize relevant technologies and tools related to the CTE field, such as design software, design tools, and equipment.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students, fostering an inclusive learning environment that caters to diverse learning needs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and certifications relevant to the CTE pathway.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, industry professionals, and community partners to enhance student learning experiences and expand opportunities for student success.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of teaching or equivalent experience in the design field.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the students and the district.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Prior demonstration of exemplary attendance is expected of any candidate for hire.
  • Training and/or experience with Culturally Relevant Education is preferred.
