Surgical Nurse Specialist

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of our surgical team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery. As a Surgical Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, utilizing evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and address patients' psychological and physical needs, providing individualized care and support.
- Foster quality care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind, promoting a culture of compassion and respect.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring clear and timely information exchange.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
- Participate in clinical team conferences, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance patient care.
- Follow hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies, and procedures, maintaining a commitment to excellence and safety.
Requirements:
- ASN from an accredited program; BSN within 4 years.
- Current Colorado RN license.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
- One year of nursing experience in a comparable setting, preferred.
Work Environment:
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams. The successful candidate will be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, and navigate crowded and busy rooms. Regularly required to stand, walk, and assist with transporting/ambulating patients, as well as obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
