Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Medication Designation plays a crucial role in the Burn Care Unit, providing essential nursing support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This full-time position involves a commitment of 36 hours per week, focusing on delivering high-quality care to patients.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Assessment: Conducts thorough assessments, monitors vital signs, and gathers data to support ongoing evaluations, promptly communicating any abnormal findings to the supervising RN.

2. Care Planning: Collaborates in the formulation of patient care and discharge plans, prioritizing tasks and treatments effectively for assigned patients.

3. Nursing Care Delivery: Implements nursing interventions that address the physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.

4. Education and Training: Engages in educational initiatives for both patients and staff, enhancing knowledge and skills within the unit.

5. Regulatory Compliance: Maintains a thorough understanding of and compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.


Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited practical nursing program or possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Licensure: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Medication/IV designation is required, or eligibility for certification.
Certifications: Valid Health Care Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory. Additional certifications may be required based on departmental needs.


Experience:
0 to 2 years of relevant nursing experience is preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.


Technical Skills:
Proficient in patient care techniques, with strong verbal and written communication abilities. Familiarity with MS Office Suite and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.


Work Environment:
This position is onsite, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare setting.
