Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical issues, and completing repairs with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake work, and tire checks
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
