Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of high expectations, reinforcing the belief that all students are capable of attending college.
- Design and execute lesson plans and classroom activities that align with state educational standards and TUNE's instructional guidelines.
- Regularly assess student performance and analyze results to tailor and enhance instructional methods based on individual needs.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to refine teaching practices and share effective strategies.
- Take on leadership roles in various aspects of school development.
- Maintain open communication with students and their families regarding classroom activities and student progress.
- Engage parents and guardians as partners in their children's educational journey.
- Manage classroom behavior to ensure full engagement from all students.
- Participate actively in professional development and collaborate closely with lead educators and instructional coaches.
- Keep accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Identify and address unique student needs in collaboration with team members.
- Support TUNE's mission, vision, and core values.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in assessment, prioritizing student achievement as the primary goal of education.
- Ability to systematically monitor student progress using objective data.
- Collaborate with school leadership to identify and support at-risk students.
- Provide meaningful feedback to parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Maintain consistent grading and reporting practices.
- Understanding of child development and diverse learning styles.
- Knowledge of subject matter, including state standards and assessment frameworks.
- Willingness to implement TUNE's instructional guidelines and best practices.
- Ability to analyze both qualitative and quantitative student data.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in instructional practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and community stakeholders.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- Valid teaching credential for multiple subjects in California.
- Certification for teaching English Language Learners.
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience working with students in a teaching capacity.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with frequent interruptions, as well as outdoor responsibilities that may include travel to various school sites and participation in meetings and workshops.
Physical Abilities:
- Effective communication skills for group training and information exchange.
- Ability to read and interpret printed materials and digital screens.
- Physical dexterity to operate office equipment and manage classroom materials.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
