Job Title: Forestry Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Forestry Assistant to join our team at the Department of Parks & Recreation. As a Forestry Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our forestry and natural resource management efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in vegetation monitoring and exotic plant control
  • Participate in prescribed fire and wildlife monitoring activities
  • Contribute to ecological restoration efforts and endangered species monitoring
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams and the public as a State Park representative
Requirements:
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in challenging weather conditions
  • Valid California driver's license

Please note that this is a seasonal position, and the selected candidate must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
