Job Title: Machinist II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist II to join our team at HEICO. As a Machinist II, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools, including lathes and mills, to produce high-quality parts and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain machine tools, including lathes and mills, to produce high-quality parts and components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and bore gauges, to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Grind and polish parts to precise specifications using various grinding and polishing techniques.
  • Properly lubricate and maintain machine tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work in a team environment to meet production deadlines and quality standards.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in conventional machining (mill/lath) preferred.
  • Basic computer software skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.


Working Conditions:

The Machinist II will work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. The position requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 80 pounds. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines and quality standards.

Language Skills:

The Machinist II must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. The employee must also be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Mathematical Skills:

The Machinist II must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The employee must also be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

The Machinist II must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The employee must also be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:

The Machinist II must be able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must also be able to lift up to 80 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
