Geisinger ConvenientCare is a walk-in clinic that provides quick, convenient healthcare when patients need it. Our clinics offer services for family health care needs, including physicals, immunizations, and treatment for common illnesses. We treat minor health issues that can be resolved in a single visit, including cold and flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, urinary infections, tick removal, sprains, strains, and minor cuts. Care is available to anyone age 1 and older. Our clinics are open 7 days a week.
Job SummaryGeisinger offers outpatient Clinic Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) a $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. As an LPN at Geisinger, you will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing top-notch care in an ambulatory setting. You will have the opportunity to work to the top of your license and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data base for provider, and prepares patient for examinations.
- Provides direct clinical care as directed by provider.
- Assists provider in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed by provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis.
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Executes and documents ongoing patient communication, as directed by provider, prioritizes communication to the provider, responds to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patients needs.
- Cleans and sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensures required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.
This position qualifies for a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid over two years. Certain stipulations do apply. The position requires a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience and a valid LPN license. The work schedule is M-F 8:45 AM to 8:15 PM and Sat/Sun 7:45 AM to 6:15 PM, with every other weekend and possible holidays. Travel may be required for coverage.
