About the Role

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team. As a Paramedic, you will provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to patients in emergency situations. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patients' conditions, provide critical care, and transport them to medical facilities safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner, providing ALS services to patients in need.
  • Assess patients' conditions, utilizing critical thinking skills to determine the best course of treatment.
  • Provide effective pre-hospital care, including obtaining essential data from patients and their families, conducting thorough physical examinations, and recording and reporting medical information to medical control physicians.
  • Operate motor vehicles safely and professionally, adhering to all laws and regulations governing emergency vehicle operation.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care, including patient care reports and controlled dangerous substances.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, evaluating the overall quality of care provided and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including police, fire, and emergency medical services, to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

  • Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Paramedic Certification.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or BLS Instructor Trainer.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification or ACLS Instructor Certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification or PALS Instructor Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
  • CEVO Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator training or EVOC Emergency Vehicle Operations Course within 90 days of hire.
