Job Summary

The Operating Room Technician (ORT) plays a vital role in ensuring the comfort and care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Working under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, the ORT functions as a team member in providing patient care, from preparation to recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Function as a team member in the provision of patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform special procedures as required.
Requirements
  • Previous clinical experience in a patient care setting, with successful completion of orientation and training to the point of competence.
  • Current CPR certification.
Education and Training

ORT certification or graduation from an approved OR technician training program, or a minimum of 1 year of experience in central processing with hospital training.
