Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Radiology Technician to join our team at Boston University. The successful candidate will be responsible for making radiographs as prescribed for patients, assisting with treatment planning, and ensuring the completion of all radiographic procedures within assigned appointment times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make radiographs as prescribed for patients, including intraoral and extraoral radiographs
  • Assist with treatment planning and ensure completion of all radiographic procedures within assigned appointment times
  • Assist in uploading radiographs obtained as outside records
  • Demonstrate, instruct, and supervise students during preclinical mannequin radiology training and clinical radiology rotation
  • Maintain radiology rotation documents for students and ensure inventory of supplies is sufficient to sustain activities of the Division of Oral Radiology
  • Maintain quality assurance and infection control in the radiology clinic
  • Organize and present radiology content and clinical instruction during the BU Dental Assisting Training Program radiology certification and state certification programs
  • Confirm that all images in the Radiology Clinic are approved on a daily basis
  • Assist students in their search for CDCA/WREB patients
Requirements
  • Vocational/Technical Degree required - 5 years of experience
  • Active MA Licensed Dental Assistant, Radiology Certified
  • Extensive knowledge of Dental X-ray machines, intraoral and extraoral, digital sensors
  • Ability to work independently on confidential assignments
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; multi-tasking skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to rapid changes in the daily work environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work as a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salud & MiPACS
