Job Summary:

As a Shift Lead at White Rhino Coffee, you will provide leadership to the shop team, ensuring our baristas have the support they need to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities include running the shift, providing direction and assistance, handling customer issues, and supervising all operations of the shop during the shift.

Daily Tasks and Projects:
  • Provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact
  • Operate all barista stations, including the bar, bar-back, and POS
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar and café area
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of our beverage and food menu
  • Create high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages to order
  • Supervise staff during the shift, providing resources and assistance as needed
  • Assist with implementing and enforcing shop procedures
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and complaints
  • Count cash in and out and handle cash drops
  • Relay important information to the Shop Manager
  • Maintain organization of shop inventory and assist with orders
Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum 17 years of age
  • Ability to work a minimum of 4-5 shifts per week, including weekend availability, with reliable transportation
  • Ability to attend every monthly staff meeting
  • Ability to comply with punctuality and performance standards
  • Strong leadership capability
  • Excellent customer service and self-awareness
Required Education, Certification, or Experience:
  • Food Manager certification (completed within 30 days of hire)
  • Previous barista experience a plus, but not required
  • All Shift Leads are required to complete 100% of our POS and Barista training within 30 days of hire date
Compensation and Benefits:

$9.50 - $12.50 per hour + $4- $6 tips, based on experience

401k and Telehealth (including mental health) after 6-month employment

Opportunity to participate in additional company benefits (health, dental, vision, etc.) if 30 hr average over 6-month employment
