Job Summary

Mercy Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Care Professional to join our team. As a Respiratory Care Professional, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist to provide basic respiratory care to non-acute patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draw arterial and/or capillary blood samples from patients, process the sample, record and report results, and perform quality controls as required.
  • Administer oxygen delivery devices, set up and monitor non-invasive equipment such as oximeters or end-tidal CO2 analyzers.
  • Provide basic respiratory therapy techniques, including Aerosol Therapy, Postural Drainage and Percussion, Incentive Spirometry, Metered Dose Inhalers, and other treatment modalities.
  • Clean, sterilize, assemble, test, and maintain par levels of facility respiratory equipment.
  • Order, maintain, and deliver oxygen to units, ensure respiratory equipment is available for procedures and examinations, and arrange for the repair of broken equipment.
  • Fulfill orders for respiratory supplies and equipment, receive and inspect deliveries for damage, and label storage bins, shelves, and other inventory locations.
Requirements
  • Current Respiratory Care Limited Permit, as required by the state of employment.
  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required).
  • A current student in good standing with an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program or a recent graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program.
