Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor & Delivery department at Carle Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Excellence:
    • Develop and implement individualized plans of care using a collaborative approach with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
    • Assess patient status through interview, observation, and physical assessment, identifying actual problems and outcomes.
    • Use evidence-based practice through the nursing process, protocols, and procedures to promote clinical excellence.
    • Systematically evaluate and document patient progress toward expected outcomes/goals on an ongoing basis.
  • Work Environment & Culture:
    • Coordinate interdisciplinary care of patients through collaboration with team members and utilize additional resources when necessary.
    • Analyze clinical situations in a systematic way, acting to obtain resources or correct problems to meet or exceed expected outcomes or patient needs.
    • Recognize need for assistance and utilize resources, including physician and nurse consultation, in a timely manner.
  • Patient Education:
    • Assess and choose teaching strategies appropriate to the patient's/family's age-specific needs.
    • Adapt teaching strategies based on patient's response, readiness to learn, and level of comprehension.
    • Ensure patient safety in the hospital environment by following policy/procedures and adhering to National Patient Safety Goals.
Requirements:
  • College Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days
  • Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser
  • Multicultural sensitivity
  • Critical thinking skills using independent judgement in making decisions
