Job Summary

Jobs for Humanity is collaborating with Osseo to build an inclusive and just employment ecosystem. We support individuals coming from all walks of life. As a Special Education Assistant, you will work with students in the Skills program who have cognitive impairments, providing positive and significant academic, social, and self-care support in school.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the special education teacher in implementing the students' special education instructional plan, including social skills and behavior management.
  • Implement and follow through on individual plans in various school settings, as assigned by the supervising teacher.
  • Collect observational data about assigned students and report to the supervising teacher.
  • Assist in preparing, collecting, and maintaining educational materials and equipment.
  • Participate in staffings, conferences, and special meetings as requested by the supervising teacher.
  • Complete educational forms, reports, and other student-related data as directed by the special education teacher.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse cultures and experiences.
  • Participation in district training program prior to and during employment.
  • Physical capability to lift and attend to the needs of students as required.
