Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician Opportunity

This exciting opportunity is for a skilled Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet's heavy-duty diesel equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, and other diesel-powered equipment while adhering to all relevant regulations.

We offer competitive pay, including an estimated salary of $62,400 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and an hourly rate of $26.00. Benefits starting day one include medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance. Eligible new hires will also receive a $5,000 retention bonus.

The successful candidate will have 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic or reefer experience, or 2 years of diesel mechanic experience with TK or Refrigeration certification. Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs, independent analytical and problem-solving skills, prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs, and knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations are essential requirements. Additionally, the ability to read and understand technical and service manuals, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
  • Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  • Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
