Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Defect Litigation Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will be entrusted with responsibilities that include assisting and supporting a Firm Partner in representing clients in construction-related disputes and litigation, and performing thorough legal analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and support a Firm Partner in representing clients in construction-related disputes and litigation
  • Perform thorough legal analysis and provide expert advice to clients
  • Conduct investigations into construction defects, gathering evidence and consulting with experts as needed
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including complaints, petitions, and motions
  • Manage the discovery process, obtaining and reviewing technical evidence from opposing parties
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing parties or their insurance companies to resolve disputes without going to trial
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, or arbitration proceedings, presenting evidence and making legal arguments to support the client's case
  • Keep clients informed about the progress of their case, explaining legal options and advising on strategic decisions throughout the litigation process
  • Ensure all legal actions comply with relevant laws and regulations, protecting the Firm and its clients' interests throughout the case and litigation process

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Ability to be admitted to practice law in the state where the position is located
  • 3-4 years of experience in construction defect litigation with knowledge of general law
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and research
