The Surgical Technology Trainee will operate under the direct guidance of a registered nurse, ensuring that all surgical procedures are conducted with the utmost care and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical operations with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit proficiency and technical expertise in the management and utilization of surgical instruments and materials to assist the physician effectively.
  • Support the registered nurse in circulating duties during surgical procedures.
  • Perform surgical technician responsibilities under the close supervision of a certified surgical technician or registered nurse, including first scrubbing minor surgeries and assisting in major cases.
  • Assist in the preparation of patients for surgical interventions as directed.
  • Help in positioning and draping patients appropriately.
  • Ensure accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments in collaboration with the registered nurse.
  • Contribute to the proper handling of specimens, maintenance of surgical instruments, and overall cleanliness of the surgical environment.
  • Uphold high standards of sanitation, safety, and confidentiality throughout all tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of the second quarter in an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
