About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Metadata and Automation Expert to join our team at Queens Public Library. As a key member of our digital archives department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automation scripts to manage our digital assets.

The ideal candidate will have experience with cataloging automation processes and website development for libraries, as well as expertise in data transformation programs and database configuration.

This is a temporary grant-funded position through July 31, 2026, with an estimated salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automation scripts to manage Queens Public Library's digital assets.
  • Work closely with Metadata Services and Marketing staff to streamline digital asset management workflow.
  • Configure digital asset management system for ingest of VRA, EAD and MARC and Dublin Core records.
  • Perform metadata normalization and batch metadata ingests from legacy databases.
  • Develop and enhance data transformation programs.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree required.
  • Experience with cataloging automation processes and website development for libraries required.
  • Expertise in data transformation programs and database configuration preferred.
